I got told today that I was a liar because I had said I never left my country till I came to this place. The guy called me a liar because he had been told that I had a uniservity degree.

He said I was lying that I never left my country before then because I had to have gone outside Africa to get the education I have. I had to laugh at such remark. I proceeded to tell him that there are a few primary schools dotted around my country and it was one of such which I attended.

It would probably have sat well with him if there was nobody there to inform him otherwise.

So Africa is so desperate that we dont even have enough brains for a university???

I have come across a lot of people for who English is the first language and their grammar, more often than not, leaves a lot to be desired. However, whenever these same people hear me speak, they tend to assume that I cant speak good English based on my accent.

Why do white(?) Europeans think that they know everything better than everyone else? Why do they have to always consider that they know everything anyone who is different or has different thought systems has to be inferior?

English is not even supposed to be my first language but many of these people will fail woefully if they were to sit an English test marked by those who taught me English. I wonder how they pass English in schools.

Those who cant feel what others feel take everything with a pinch of salt, at best. At worst, they are completely disbelieving.

Some actually know the truth but would rather be in denial of the truth

Is it just the case that Europeans have been fed so much negativity about Africans that their expectations and perceptions are so crudely blunted?

Europeans seem to believe that Africans are 'that bunch' (not necessarily humans) which deserve to be PITIED because they are sub-human and have limited intelligence.

I am wondering why I never see anything good about Africa on British Media.

I am wondering why I never saw the things which I now see on TV when I lived in Africa.

I am wondering if the British media is just out to make the whole of Africa look terrible.

I am wondering why, when a British journalist visits a remote village in a poor nation, he prefers to just say that he went to Africa rather than say where exactly he went.

I am wondering if it is just a fashionable thing for British journalists to go and seek out the negative anywhere they can find it in Africa.
